Evidence Synthesis Training and Capacity Development
The training and capacity theme is led by five of the ESWG co-applicants and draws on expertise from across the nine SPCR centres. The key objective for the ESWG group is to provide training, build capacity and propagate best practice in conducting systematic reviews and evidence synthesis.
We plan to do this by creating a number of capacity building activities:
- Short courses in complex evidence synthesis.
- Utilise expertise across the working group to provide a research design service for complex evidence synthesis protocols, particularly for early career researchers applying for further funding.
- Advertise opportunities, across the SPCR, for early career researchers e.g. doctoral students, early post-doctoral students, academic clinical fellows to join existing project teams to provide added value from the exposure.
Training leads:
Dr Sophie Park (UCL)
Dr Kamal Mahtani (Oxford)
Prof Richard Riley (Keele)
Dr Alice Malpass (Bristol)
Dr Dawn Craig (Newcastle)
Prof Nadeem Qureshi (Nottingham)
