Congratulations to Dr Mairead Murphy who won £500 for Best Doctoral Research Thesis in the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Bristol. She was awarded the prize for the exceptional quality of her research degree thesis.
A new research collaboration award launched by NIHR

The Short Placement Award for Research Collaboration (SPARC) has just been launched by the NIHR to support early stage researchers to spend time in other parts of the NIHR. The award replaces the NIHR Doctoral Research Exchange Scheme.

Another year down and another fantastic turnout for the SPCR at SAPC. The University of Warwick hosted the 46th SAPC ASM from 12-14 July. By all accounts it resulted in lively talks and debate around key issues affecting the primary care environment under the theme 'Pioneering Change'.
Another School member scoops Yvonne Carter Award

Congratulations to Dr Nathan Davies, SPCR Fellow at University College London, who is this year's winner of the prestigious Yvonne Carter Award. The award is co-presented by the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) and the Society for Academic Primary Care (SAPC). It recognises the contributions of early career researchers in advancing the discipline of academic primary care through research.

Dr Abi Methley, Trainee Clinical Psychologist at the University of Manchester, received the 2016 Emerald and EFMD Outstanding Doctoral Research Award for her School funded research "Health care services for multiple sclerosis: The experiences of people with multiple sclerosis and health care professionals."
