We are interested in hearing the views of Heads of Department and researchers of Black heritage engaged in primary care research, across career levels.

Researchers of Black heritage

The NIHR School for Primary Care Research (SPCR) Board has commissioned work to explore the representation of individuals of Black heritage in primary care research. The project explores career experiences in general and any perceived barriers and facilitators for career progression in academic primary care among researchers of Black heritage e.g. pathways to the role of Chair or Professor. Your input will be invaluable in informing our understanding of representation within primary care research.

We are interested in hearing the views of Heads of Department and researchers of Black heritage engaged in primary care research, across career levels. We will be carrying out informal one-to-one interviews to understand individuals’ views and experiences. These interviews will help map current levels of representation and factors related to career progression. The findings will be used to recommend strategies to facilitate career progression among researchers of Black heritage.

All information collected during the study will be kept confidential if you decide to participate. The study has been approved by the University of Nottingham Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Research Ethics Committee (Reference: FMHS 218-0624).
