Congratulations to Professor Elaine Hay on her MBE for Services to Medical Research

The NIHR School for Primary Care Research is delighted to celebrate Professor Elaine Hay, Director of the Arthritis Research UK Primary Care Centre at Keele School of Medicine and esteemed SPCR researcher, who has been awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list for her outstanding contributions to medical research.

Professor Hay has dedicated her career to improving patient care, particularly for those living with musculoskeletal conditions. Her pioneering research has significantly influenced the redesign of NHS services, ensuring that evidence-based approaches are at the heart of primary care. 

On receiving the honour, Professor Hay expressed her gratitude, highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing healthcare:

"This recognition is shared with my colleagues, patients, and collaborators who have supported and inspired me throughout my career. Together, we’ve shown the impact that research can have on improving lives."
