Developing early-career researchers and leveraging funding in social prescribing research

 The SPCR aims to deliver maximal impact from its funding, and carefully targeted smaller grants can yield significant outcomes. One example of this has been the support of Kamal Mahtani’s work in helping him develop as a researcher, train others and leverage further funding for primary care research. 

Kamal, a GP and professor of evidence-based healthcare at the University of Oxford, is particularly interested in health services research, including social prescribing, which offers non-medical support in the community.
