Another year down and another fantastic turnout for the SPCR at SAPC. The University of Warwick hosted the 46th SAPC ASM from 12-14 July. By all accounts it resulted in lively talks and debate around key issues affecting the primary care environment under the theme 'Pioneering Change'.

The School celebrated ten years of primary care research at the Wellcome Collection on 22 November. Delegates from around the country were welcomed with a programme of presentations and discussions about past, present and future research impact. The showcase highlighted the increased evidence base provided by the School to date as well as research that promises to add a lot more to this in the future.

Bristol GP wins major RCGP research award

Dr Matthew Ridd, a practising GP and Consultant Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol, has won the 2017 John Fry Award. Matthew's research explores continuity of care and person-centred care, with a foundation in dermatological issues in general practice and wider primary care.
