The Inclusive Co-Design of Digital Health Interventions: Lessons from the DWELL Study
How do we design digital interventions that work for people with diverse needs and experiences?
Tuesday 6 October 2026 | 12:00–13:00 | Online (MS Teams)
DWELL (Diabetes and Emotional Wellbeing) is an NIHR-SPCR-funded study led by Queen Mary University of London and the University of Bath. The project is co-designing a web-based intervention to support adults with Type 2 diabetes experiencing diabetes-related emotional distress, with a focus on underserved and seldom-heard communities.
In this free webinar, we will share what we have learned from the DWELL co-design process, including what worked well, what did not work as well, and what we would do differently.
You will hear directly from members of the research team and people with lived experience who have been involved in designing the intervention. Together, we will talk about some of the challenges of designing digital health resources with and for diverse groups of people, including differences in culture, language, digital skills, accessibility and neurodivergence.
The session will be practical and discussion-based, with plenty of opportunity to hear different perspectives and ask questions.
The webinar is aimed at digital health researchers and developers interested in co-design, PPI, and creating more inclusive digital health tools and interventions.
