Primary Care Research Centre - University of Southampton

Southampton Primary Care Research Centre (PCRC) is an international centre of excellence for research in primary care.

Southampton PCRC includes a multidisciplinary team of researchers including academic GPs, sociologists, psychologists, statisticians, pharmacists, data scientists, and health sciences researchers. We work collaboratively with many institutions and groups, including other academic departments, NIHR infrastructure (RDNRSSBRCARC), Southampton Clinical Trials Unit, and partners in charitable organisations and industry.

In the 2021 Research Excellence Framework PCRC achieved the highest rating in our unit of assessment (UoA2) for outputs with a Grade Point Average of 3.71 and 94% considered as 'internationally excellent' or 'world leading'.

We have a strong commitment to supporting education and training for all our students and staff, to excellent patient and public involvement and to dissemination and implementation of our research.
