A partnership between nine leading academic centres, we are a focal point for primary care research across England's National Institute for Health and Care Research.
We fund teams of researchers to improve the evidence base for primary care practice so that people are provided with better and more effective care. Through a wide range of projects, our programmes and collaborative initiatives address some of the significant challenges faced by patients and health and care practitioners in the community.
Our research agenda is informed by the needs of local populations, addressing the nation's changing demographics and shifting disease burdens.
