Welcome to SPCR team Halle Johnson! Halle joined the SPCR at the end of August and will be leading the School's programme of patient and public involvement and engagement.
Halle brings a wealth of experience in patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) from both the University and Charity sector. She hopes to use this experience to build capacity for PPIE across the School and continue to support meaningful involvement of patients and the public across primary care research and activity.
HALLE TALKS ABOUT HOW HER INTEREST IN PPIE HAS DEVELOPED
"My skills for patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) have developed over the last 7 years through roles supporting and leading on PPIE at the Patient Experience Research Centre (Imperial College London), Cicely Saunders Institute (King’s College London) and Alzheimer’s Society.
I have a passion for co-produced and participatory approaches to research, with a focus on the involvement of under-represented and under-served communities, as well as an interest in developing meaningful ways to involve the public in more challenging (such as big data research) and sensitive (such as Palliative Care) research areas.
I look forward to bringing my skills and experience to this role to support the SPCR PPIE leads and the delivery of the School’s PPIE strategy and activities."
