One of the SPCR’s key goals is to increase the capacity of the primary care research workforce. Even though the University of Exeter has only been a member since 2021, there have been several examples where early-career researchers have benefitted from SPCR support.

After completing a PhD in Sport and Health Sciences, Emma Cockroft worked as a Research Fellow co-ordinating patient and public involvement across a range of health services research projects.
