Transdisciplinary Understanding and Training on Research - Primary Health Care

TUTOR-PHC is a one-year, national interdisciplinary research training programme funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation (CHSRF) with representation from the disciplines of: Family Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Epidemiology, Social Work, Sociology , Education and many others. 

The innovative curriculum of this one-year certificate program (April 2025 - May 2026) in primary health care research skills and interdisciplinary theory & processes includes:

• An on-site Symposium in the Spring of 2025
• Two 3-week online research skill development workshops
• Two 8-week online interdisciplinary discussion groups

Application process 

The SPCR holds a competition to select a candidate to attend the TUTOR-PHC programme. This opportunity is eligible to any colleague based in one of the nine SPCR primary care members, but the programme is particularly aimed at primary care researchers who are mid-career clinicians, post-doctoral researchers or doctoral students.  

Applications should consist of a brief CV and one A4 page detailing how you would benefit from being a TUTOR-PHC participant,  what you could offer the programme cohort and how you would share your experience with the SPCR.  

Applications should be emailed to spcr@keele.ac.uk by 28th November 2024. Applications should NOT be submitted directly to the programme office in Canada.
