Background:
This session will encourage reflection around co-production and participatory approaches in primary care research and service improvement. Through a combination of case studies and discussion, attendees will gain insight into key factors contributing to successful partnership, lessons learned and considerations for incorporating co-production and participatory approaches in future projects.
What does the session involve?
- Discuss and reflect on terminology around co-production and participatory approaches
- Hear from three researchers across the SPCR utilising co-production and participatory approaches in research and service improvement
- Reflect on strategies for facilitating these approaches in practice

Speakers:
Jess, Anna and Michelle are all researchers with experience in community-based participatory research and co-production approaches. They will be sharing their learning and experiences alongside some of the public contributors they have worked with in different projects. Lessons learnt will be shared from both researchers’ and public contributors’ perspectives.
Target audience:
Open to anyone with an interest in co-production and/or participatory approaches to research. As this will be an interactive session which fosters discussion the session will be limited to max 20 attendees. If registrations exceed this number, priority will be given to early career researchers (Research Assistants, PhD students, Research Fellows) working in Primary Care Research.
