Support for researchers.
All publications, powerpoint and poster presentations from SPCR funded research or from individual awards, is to include the NIHR disclaimer and funding acknowledgement. The output should be sent to SPCR@keele.ac.uk to log with the NIHR.
Research outputs
A research output is any item that enters the public domain from research we have funded or otherwise enabled.
Outputs can include:
- publications, such as research papers and abstracts, conference papers, research reports, books or book chapters
- media activity, such as online, print, magazine or newsletter pieces, blogs, case studies, media interviews or press releases
- engagement activities, such as talks or presentations
- policy, practice and public outputs, such as policy documents and participant materials
- research databases and models
- research tools or methods, software or technologies
- intellectual property
The NIHR tracks research outputs from funded research and researchers throughout the funding, for between 3 and 5 years, and within infrastructure up to 6 years, afterwards.
Open Access.
Open access is required on all NIHR-funded publications and researchers must seek to publish their research outputs in a peer-reviewed journal that is compliant with the NIHR OA policy.

Following Open Access Policy and process appropriate acknowledgment of NIHR must added to all outputs.
Acknowledgement of NIHR, unique award identifier and disclaimer (see below) must be added to the funding or acknowledgments section of the manuscript and included in the funding information requested by the publication on submission. All manuscripts must be submitted to, and approved by, the SPCR Programme Officer prior to submission for publication, or at the very latest, after acceptance by a journal.

NIHR COMMS LEADS.

Press releases must be sent to the NIHR at least 14 days prior to the date of issue.
Please send the draft press releases to the Communications Officer to pass on to the NIHR.
Press releases must include the NIHR Notes for editors.

All presentations and publications must acknowledge NIHR funding. Funded research must include the NIHR SPCR logo placed either in the top left or bottom left of your university branded presentation or poster.
